Should human rights, social credits and the Belt and Road Initiative make the UK’s legal and judicial community more or less enthusiastic to engage?

This was the timely subject for the Slynn Foundation’s recent Open Forum held in the Old Hall in Lincoln’s Inn. We were delighted that The Rt Hon Lord Hodge, a Justice of the Supreme Court, The Hon Sir William Blair, Former Judge in Charge of the London Commercial Court and Ms Merethe Borg MacLeod, Executive Director of the Great Britain China Centre, all agreed to share their interesting insights. This was followed by questions from the floor which were a good mix of challenge (how to balance human rights and engagement with an important world power), insights into changes in China and the effectiveness of facilitating exchange between  Chinese and UK lawyers.
