Slynn Welcome new Trustees

The Rt. Hon. Sir Stephen Irwin, Chairman of the Slynn Foundation and the Board of Trustees are pleased to announce the appointment of two new trustees to the Board.


Roger Coventry CMG

Roger is recognised for his work in Afghanistan where he continues to support judges and lawyers, Pakistan, and currently works with the judiciary in Lebanon. He has sat as a judge in the higher courts of three Commonwealth jurisdictions and worked with the Crown Prosecution Service for fourteen years.  


David Ormerod CBE, KC (Hon) DCL (Hon)

David is an extremely distinguished legal academic.  He is the Professor Criminal Justice at University College, London. He has been an academic lawyer for over 30 years and has published widely on all aspects of criminal law, evidence and procedure. He is currently a Deputy High Court Judge, Director of the Criminal Law Centre and joint Director of the Judicial Institute at UCL as well as a long-standing lecturer on criminal law at the Judicial College.


David has been the editor of Smith and Hogan’s Criminal Law since 2002, editor in chief of Blackstone’s Criminal Practice since 2008, general editor of the Criminal Law Review since 2012, co-author of Ormerod and Montgomery on Fraud, co- author of Smith’s Law of Theft, a contributor and Consultant Editor to Halsbury’s Laws of England Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure and Evidence and a prolific contributor to journals and a lecturer in the UK and abroad.
